Hey to all --

Just using the free link exchange from Link Partners ... How quickly do seekers begin to contact ... or should I just begin to contact via search?

Thanks

My advice is, don't wait for other sites to find and contact you. If you see relevant sites, contact them.

Hay if you are new for link exchange, if you need contacts then go to google and type link exchange ids and you will get plenty.

My first time here. I haven't navigated the site yet. Hopefully, I could get link exchange partners here.

Welcome, Lesley_James.

I must tell you, connecting with link partners and making link exchanges with other members is not the purpose or focus of this forum. Discussion of how to best get links, however, is one of the purposes.

I'll just jump right in here on this one. Can someone identify for me a site with link exchanges that is still doing well in the SERPs? It is worth all of your efforts to build one way links. Although Reciprocal links are useful they are a immediate sign to Google that your site lacks enough substance to be linked on it's own merit.

With pleasure. The first one in my signature ... although I can't (and won't) say it got there by virtue of links.

Google and I disagree with that statement.

I think that the suggestion here is that anyone who participates in link exchanges is going to suffer in SERP and that just isn't correct.
My site is doing well in SERP and I have link exchanges. To qualify this, I have 30 targeted keywords (25 are high competition, 5 are medium).
I have 19 of them on page 1 of Google, and the lowest SERP of any of them is 26.

I agree with The Old Sarge, don't wait for anyone to find you. I find sites that I feel would be appropriate to do a link exchange with and I contact them. I will place there link on my site then I follow up once a week for three weeks. After week three if I have no response I let the web admin I know I will be removing there link. Works good for me.

In your introductory post you say you do web design and SEO - this isn't a serious question is it?
