The LinksManager Toolbar installable for MAC is ready! It will support Firefox running on Mac OS/X (sorry, Safari not supported yet).

I have tried to use the toolbar a few times.
So far it captured useless/wrong description information.

I have tried to use the toolbar a few times.
So far it captured useless/wrong description information.
The toolbar should pull information from the target site's meta tags if any information is available. If it doesn't pull the correct information then that is something we need to look at.
I have been using the toolbar successfully with multiple accounts and have never seen this type of error.
Can you provide an example of a site you used the toolbar on that produced useless/wrong description information? This way I can see if I can reproduce the issue with that site.
Thank you for your feedback!

For example, if I navigate to the add-link page on a site, the tool bar will capture the complete url: http://sitedomainname.com/links/add-link.html
For the descripton, many times the tool bar pulls a seemingly random paragraph out of the current page (although it could be the meta data).
I will post a specific example the next time it happens.

Pintobuck,
When you initially click the 'Manage Link' button it will take the url of the page you are currently on to add it into your account. If you want to link to that site's home page then you will want to load their home page first and then click on the 'Manage Link' button.
This is done so that you can also add specific pages of a site to your links pages. Instead of always linking with a site's homepage you can link to their internal pages if they are more targeted and relevant. In that case you would navigate to the page with the information you want to link to and then click the 'Manage Link' button.
The description should be taken from the source code meta tags as you mentioned. Hopefully this information helps to address your concerns.

Since you made me aware of it, the LinkManager toolbar does take the URL and meta description from the page that your are on, and that can be useful.
However, when conducting a reciprocal link campaign, we need to take the data that their webmaster published for a reciprocal link, and that is almost never the meta data, nor the url for his add-link page.
It would be useful if we could highlight the reciprocal link text and have the toolbar capture that. If not, we can always cut and paste like we do now.

I don't see 'Manage Link' on my tool bar. I see Links Manager, Login, LinkManager Blog, and Help. Is it possible that I failed to install the tool bar properly.

ballroomdancer,
The Manage Link feature becomes available after a successful login. If you do not see the Manage Link button after logging in please try installing and re-installing the toolbar.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

So far, my favourite feature is the fact that the toolbar can tell me instantly
if a site I'm about to add is already in my account's links. All I have to do is
'land' on the site I'm considering, click Manage Link & if it's already an existing link, you'll see RED TEXT across the top of it's window that makes it's status very obvious.
How about taking this one step further? How about setting this feature up
to automatically display the duplicate status of a possible linking site via, say, a green button for Not Duplicate, and a red button that tells us Duplicate.
These buttons ( I can envision a small led type indicator) would light up when we land on a possible linking site. With just a glance, I could tell whether to proceed or stop. I know, it would only save us a couple of keystrokes per site, but those sure add up over the weeks.
Great Work! Thanks guys!

I'm hearing rumours... there's a newer, more powerful Toolbar that's coming about. When is this going to be released?

Having similar problem as pintobuck. The meta data is available with my current toolbar so can't see advantages?
