Hello guys,
I would like your advice as I have a category that is now set to 100 links per page and I now want to change it into less links per page.
Question1.
If I split this page into 3 or 4 pages with less links is each page are many of the links going to change address and as a result my links partners will not be able to locate their links on my pages and delete my link from their pages?
Question 2.
How many links is suggested for each page?
Any additional advice on this matter will be appreciated.

1. Short of notifying each website that you are moving their link, you could install a search feature that allows searches of your site only. Then show a search box on every page.

2. If there is rule of thumb for links per page, I don't know what it is. I doubt it makes a difference from an SEO standpoint. But for pure page aesthetics, I would not put so many links that a visitor had to scroll down more than a couple screens or so.

I like to see about 10-15 links per page and those links properly categorised That way there can be more relevance.

We at LinksManager do not recommend more than 100 links per page as that is what Google says specifically.

Even 100 per page is too many for me personally. I like to see 10-25 links per page depending on how wide and long the pages are. This breaks it up more for your visitor which is really the main reason I have links pages in the first place. "For the benefit of my visitors." That is our mantra.

Thanks for the specifics, Phil. I was not aware of that.

Hello abrahome, I am also contemplating reducing the number of links per page purely for aesthetics. I have 25 per page now and I think I'll go to 15 but I have the same concern, namely, will my recips disappear? If you find the answer please let me know, Thanks

I think it is important to have your links categorized. Spend your time categorizing more than worrying about how many.

And yes, if you change and put someone's link on a second, third or fourth page then they will not find their link with the path they currently have and they could think you dropped them and they will in turn drop you.

Personally, I don't like to search through pages and pages of links. I like 100 links on a page. Scrolling on one page is much more desireable than changeing from one page to another.
