Are any of you using affiliate marketing successfully? How is it working out for you? What software do you use?

I have been using Affiliate Programs all without a software to help, but I am with Amazon, LinkShare and various companies on the side who like to get their product out there and offer either a percentage or dollar amount per sign up (i.e. Survey Companies like Instant Profitz or SurveySavvy). I just put the links on my blog or in forums related to the links and sometimes have success there, but not as much as I'd like. I haven't done well with Amazon or LinkShare at all, but I have also just started with them the last month or so, so it could be because I haven't pushed them enough. I hear that many people are doing excellent with them and are actually making an income that helps them to stay at home with their kids (my goal).

As far as I know so far every advertising program of all kind pays you for referrals, the software helps but nobody like this procedure because is taken as cheating

It's great to see so many people interested in Affiliate marketing...It really works when done with all the energy and a minded work. Some Popular Affiliate Programs that I prefer are...Commission junction, Clickbank and Google Adsense...They work more effectively than any other strategies...Just try them out with the help of affiliate experts :)

WalMart's affiliate program is currently handled through LinkShare. When you sign up from WalMart's site, you might think you're dealing with WalMart, but they simply forward your request to LinkShare. If you then go to LinkShare and try to join WalMart's affiliate program, it will tell you that you already applied. Very few companies handle their own affiliate programs, especially the 'Big Guys'.

I'm not sure I understand what your link (Make Money) is for but I've seen that template on dozens of sites. Did you go there to join affiliate programs? Is WalMart's program listed there? Is Make Money your site?

Affiliate marketing is by far the most cost-effective venue for making an extra income online. However, if you don't manage your money and time effectively, you might lose your shirt. I have a website and it brings in a descent income but my main income comes from affiliate marketing. Some people place affiliate ads on their website and wait for their checks. They wait for a long time then they drop the program and switch to another one. Affiliate marketing is an ongoing and serious process. Personally I pick between 3-5 products through Clickbank or Paydotcom and I do some advertising on my website, but most of it, I do with PPc. I don't send traffic to the merchant's website at first. rather, the prospects is directed to review page that I design myself. I write 5 or 6 paragraphs about the product I am promoting. if the user decides to buy, then superb, otherwise when they decide to leave my page a pop-under shows with a free offer they can't resist. All I ask for is their email. Bam.....then with some follow-ups and bait there is a bite. It doesn't happen the first day, but as I said it's an ongoing process.
Good luck

Yes some companies let companies like Commission Junction. Like Best Buy and Diskeeper are handle by them. It could happen they already have your information.

Affiliates, I always go with online stores or products that I use and in fact really like. I can create more realistic content and seriously market the product out there. You need to believe in the store or product in order to go to the next level.

SEO of the page and optimization is a must so you can get traffic. Having twitter and facebook and a lot of friends you can pass along you website and update them constantly.

Hello,

You have plenty of affiliate programs to choose from but only few that's really worth the effort. For the benefit of those who don't know what an affiliate program is allow me to explain a little on how it works. Affiliate program is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts.

If you want to sell your products or services using the internet, there are available resources you can use and become a successful affiliate. live247support.com for instance. Its a live chat support company that offers online customer service support so that you can assure that your customer's concerns are directed to people who have enough knowledge about your business and they are properly addressed.

To learn more about affiliate marketing and on how to make it work for you, you can visit this blog shared to me by a friend:

affiliatebusinessandstrategies.wordpress.com/2009/10/18/make-affiliate-marketing-work-for-you/

I hope this would help and I will be happy to hear more suggestions or comments.

Good luck

I do use "affiliate links" when they're available. That means that when I mention a product, if you click on a link to that product and eventually purchase it, I may get a small percentage of the purchase price in exchange for referring you to the seller. That doesn't affect your eventual purchase price, and more importantly, I do not allow it to affect my mention or recommendation. I pick the product first and then see if they have an affiliate program (many do not, but they'll still get the mention, or recommendation if I think they're worth it). Naturally you're always welcome to visit the product manufacturer directly, avoiding any affiliate link, should you wish.

I do clickbank, basically you just have to present some relevant infos on the items you promote so people will be interested enough to click on the link
because if your post is weak and does not draw interest, no one will bother clicking you link
also, i advertise a lot, really work on it, try searching for MAD marketing, it's how i learned

Love this thread. I just started a personal website recently and I'm thinking of monetizing it soon. A lot of people have advised me to sign up for an affiliate program as it is, as someone has already stated, one of the most cost effective ways of making money online.

I'll be looking at Clickbank as that's the one with the most mentions... anyone else care to share some more successful affiliate programs?
