I apologize in advance but I'm an extreme novice with all of this stuff. I have a phone system technical support website http://forums.socalphonepros.com Any advice on how to start linking would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Search the SEs for your own products/services/keywords and contact sites that relate to your own. Not necessarily direct competitors, mind you, but relevant.

Also, you should search LinkPartners for sites you think you want to exchange with.

Hi socalpho,

I agree totally with The Old Sarge's comment regarding LinkPartners. It is an excellent place to exchange links. Now this is assuming you have set up your Link Directory on your site to post the reciprocal links. If you are serious about this you will purchase a link building software to cave you time. The other major thing I suggest to all is that you have to place a link on your home page to your links page to make them valuable to swap. If your links page is buried several layers down in yous site the Page Rank is going to be next to useless. To give you an example of the sort of thing I am suggesting go to the Stone Age Design (http://www.stoneagedesign.com.au/) website home page and you will see a link on the top of the page which says Add URL to Links Page (http://www.stoneagedesign.com.au/links/partners.html) this is a direct link from the home page to the links page. This links page contains instructions on how to reciprocate links. If a site looks as though they do link swapping I always suggest linking to a site before asking for a return link.

Hope this helps you get on your way.

Cheers,

Mick
