I niticed that the default setting for linkmanger customers directories are set as no index. If all of our directories are not indexed. Then won't are links not be indexed by the search engines either.

The page tagged noindex will not be indexed. That does not mean the links on it will not be followed and indexed on their own merits/tags.

Unless I'm misunderstanding this does it mean that LinkPartners is acting as an invisible entity between Link A and Link B?

Duke,

I'm not sure about that because I'm not entirely sure what the original poster was trying to say.

All I was saying is that "noindex" means the page so tagged will not be indexed. It will not stop bots from following links on such pages nor will it prevent them from indexing the pages found by following those links.

Ya I had some issues with the original post as well to be honest so I replied to the only part I felt I understood (which on this forum pretty much makes me your shadow TOS as you're the only one who seems to make any sense around here lately lol).

Anyway, I was following a backlink today which took me directly to my listed category at Link Partners so it pretty much means my question was kinda stupid anyways. :o

Not sure I completely follow the question either but I do have some information that may be helpful.

we block the SE’s from LM user directories because those are just for preview/development and that the SE’s will index the pages on the user’s website. If we allowed indexing on our site it would be indexed twice possibly causing a “duplicate content issue” which we want to avoid.

we (LinksManager staff) maintain contact with engineers at both yahoo and google and that our actions are based on what the search engines have published in their guidelines on obtaining links.

Not sure if that covers the question or not but thought I would add that information.
