I requested a link exchange with a site through linkpartners and after a couple of months I temp-removed the link and this is the email I got from the other site:
Dear Betty Evans,
I'm terribly sorry but you have placed a link to www.sgallery.net without
following some of our rules which can be found below. In this case
rules 4 and 8 were not conformed to.
Even DO NOT bother to email us for link exchange if:
1. - You have not already added our link in your web site.
2. - The links page that you have added our link is not detectable through
visible text links from your web site home page.
3. - Your links page is database driven (dynamic).
4. - Your web site pages specially home page and the links page that you
have added our link are made with frames.
5. - You use automatic link exchange programs like Zeus.
6. - Site must have less than 100 websites links included in the total link
pages.
7. - In your link you do not use our keywords (which actually is site's
name). Words like 'sGALLERY' or just 'Art Gallery' are absolutely useless to
us.
8. - The links page that you have placed our link doesn't have a Page Rank
in Google.
I get these emails often. How are we to know they have rules? I do visit all sites prior to request but I dont go through their site for the exchange and often these "rules" dont show until you click the exchange process on their site. Their site isnt even ranked on the google ranking...I checked and I tried to email them to say I was sorry I didnt know about the "rules" but as you can guess...incorrect email. I wish linkpartners would do an auto check of our emails more than just at sign up so some of the bad addys would be avoided. Thanks for letting me vent...if anyone can tell me how you avoid these types of sites and still use linkpartners please do.
