I have been a member of Link Partners for some time but recently started using Links Manager. I have found that some of the websites I trade links with have a "web resources" button on their home page that takes you to their link pages that have addresses of http://resources.theirsite.com

Links Manager does not seem to recognize these pages as a reciprocal link unless I manually enter in the specific page to be checked. I am wondering if anyone knows if the search engines recognize these as reciprocal links or are they seen as 3 way links since they have "resources" before their root domain.

I don't see how they could be viewed as three-way links. You link to their site, their site puts your link in (essentially) a sub-domain. Period. I don't see any three-way. It's more like a one-way from you to them and a one way (that most real people will ignore) from an obscure page on their site to your site.

The link checker should be able to find a reciprocal link on a standard subdomain or CNAME as long as there is navigation to that page that can be found by a robot.

There are too many reasons to mention why the link *may* be returning a Not On Last Check when you as a human can see it visually. I have seen people accidentally not close the anchor tag which resulted in a false reading.

The bottom line is that even on www.domain.com the 'www' part is a subdomain. Your actual domain is after the http://www so it would be domain.com for your domain. Some people use www some don't. Some people have multiple subdomains to separate different parts of their site.

Not a 3 way exchange at all. A 3 way exchange would be me putting a link to your site on my site but asking you to link to a completely different site. Such as:

Your site: http://www.sitea.com
My site: http://www.siteb.com
My other site: http://www.sitec.com

3 way linking would be:
sitea.com linking to siteb.com
siteb.com linking to sitec.com
sitec.com linking to sitea.com

Hopefully this is helpful. If you feel links in your LM account are not reporting correctly please login into your account and open a Support Ticket. Provide the Link Id # you feel is incorrectly reporting and we will research that link specifically.

I have somehow encountered the same issue before but i never thought it being a 3-way linking. Well, i guess everybody has said what it is to be said. I'd only like to confirm to what Phil Staff have said. He clearly stated what the subdomain and the actual domain is. And i guess from there you could understand already what really happened with your links.
