Social bookmarking strategy advice

I have an ecommerce site and Im working on optimising each page. Im targeting a couple of keywords per page, some are not too competitive. Would it be a good strategy to add my pages using these keywords to social bookmarking sites or would this not offer much help. Im thinking that I might only need a couple of backlinks for each keyword to build it up.

I think the days of building websites via social bookmarking will come to an end sooner or later. It may even be happening now as I've plenty of inbound links from both Twitter and Facebook but they haven't seemed to help my site much with anything other than targeted traffic (which is big of course).

So if I haven't confused you enough with my response I'll try to clarify. Look toward Social Bookmarking as a more targeted and immediate traffic stream rather than a source for backlinking and/or a potential PR funnel.
