Interesting... I have a post about Linking Policy (http://www.recruiting-usa.com/2007/02/06/do-you-have-a-link-policy/) on my blog. And I also have a published link policy (http://www.recruiting-usa.com/blog/our-linking-policy) on my web services site (http://www.recruiting-usa.com) here. For me, I think the biggest advantage is letting other responsible webmasters know how you work BEFORE they contact you. The irresponsible don't care.

I do have a linking policy, though I haven't posted it on my site yet. (I will the next time I update my content.)

The best thing about the policy, at least for me, is that it keeps me honest. Sometimes, I tend to forget that in linking sometimes less is really more, that a few choice links offer more to my customers and help me more with search engines than hundreds or thousands of marginal ones.

By enforcing my linking policy on myself it is much easier to keep to the straight and narrow of my overall linking strategy.
